Today we’d like to tell you a new success story of our Sicilian client MELCAL, world leader in supplying lifting solutions for the marine and offshore industry.
In February 2020, IV Offshore & Energy and HSM Offshore signed a contract with MELCAL to deliver two SL500 fixed boom cranes to Independent Oil & Gas (IOG) based in the United Kingdom.
Despite the complexity of the project and the numerous challenges and limitations caused by the pandemic, MELCAL successfully delivered and installed two diesel ATEX cranes for Southwark and Blythe.
MELCAR is involved in a scale development activity in the production of gas in the United Kingdom. In line with their operational philosophy to reduce running costs and carbon footprint to a minimum, they chose the FPT Industrial’s low environmental impact engine, the Cursor 9 stage IV engine.
We are proud to have supported the work of our client in everything regarding the motorisation of the cranes.
Together with MELCAL, the engines and all the components (wiring, interface, etc) were tailor made, making them compliant with ATEX regulations. We also supplied the necessary support in training their technicians for the installation and commissioning of the engines.
